Officer Bios

My name is Zoya Batliwala, and I am honored to serve as the Chair for the Middle Eastern and North African Summit. A sophomore at Montgomery High School, I balance my passion for the sciences and international relations by competing on the Science Olympiad team and serving as our Grade Secretary. Outside of school, I enjoy playing golf, swimming with friends, and traveling. A personal hobby of mine is collecting souvenirs and local specialties from every town I’ve visited—a way to reminisce about each place. Part of what makes a great souvenir is the story we take with it, and MUN has given me one of the most meaningful experiences yet: the chance to chair this committee. Through my MUN journey, I’ve learned that the most powerful voices are built on thoughtful research, collaborative community, and enthusiasm. I look forward to working with you all and cultivating that very community—creating a space where we can engage in meaningful discussions and forge lasting connections, together.
