Officer Bios

Hi delegates! My name is Sophia Song, and I’m thrilled to serve as one of your Nation Building chairs this year. I’m a senior with the Greater Philadelphia YMCA delegation, and at my school, I lead our Model UN team, student newspaper, and student government. Outside of school, I’m a rower and swim coach, and in my free time, I enjoy learning languages and watching Netflix. Having once struggled with the nerves of public speaking, I understand how daunting it can feel to speak up, and I hope this conference gives you the confidence to take that step, just as it did for me. Cold War history has always been my favorite period to study, and I’m excited to see how you approach this year’s NBC topic. My goal as your chair is to support you every step of the way, whether that means helping you develop your ideas, find your voice in committee, or challenge yourself to take risks. I can’t wait to meet you all in January!
