Officer Bios

Hi delegates! My name is Sophia Song and I’m thrilled to serve as one of your Nation Building chairs! I am currently a junior from the Greater Philadelphia YMCA delegation. At my school, I founded and serve as Secretary-General of our Model UN team, hosting US diplomat speakers and creating a MUN curriculum for my delegates. Outside of school, I enjoy rowing, coaching swimming, and learning languages. Having once struggled with the nerves of public speaking, I understand how daunting it can feel to speak up, and I truly hope this conference encourages you to debate, question, and most importantly, enjoy the process—just as it has for me. In committee, you will not only improve in public speaking, but you will also deepen topical knowledge, strengthen analytical skills, gain resilience, and most importantly, collaborate with new delegates and build strong friendships. I am here to support you every step of the way and am always ready to lend a helping hand. I’m honored to chair Nation Building and can’t wait to meet you all!
