Officer Bios

MUN convinced me that the way you say something matters just as much as what you say. I’m Chinmay Kashyap, your Security Council A officer for the 2027 Model United Nations conference. I got into Model UN in about 7th grade; it started with a suggestion my mom made jokingly to get me into extracurriculars. That somehow turned into four years of Model UN, and it’s now become an integral part of my life. But it wasn’t just my mom’s doing — it was also my genuine interest in learning how the world works and why it does. As an officer for the Security Council, I bring moderation to your discourse; you bring the fire while I stand there and watch (just kidding). In all seriousness, my job is to make sure that every voice is heard, including yours. Outside of school, I love to learn geography (I know all of the capitals and flags), play tennis, listen to music (I like hip-hop and pop), and dabble in a few video games. For this conference, I’m looking forward to helping you spread your wings and making sure you walk out knowing you said something that mattered. I can’t wait to see what you all bring to our committee sessions. See you there!
